PLACE

We are passionate about championing the California cool climate Sauvignon Blanc movement. While 99% of Sauvignon Blanc in California is grown in warmer regions like Napa, Sonoma, Lodi, and Paso Robles, cool climate Sauvignon Blanc is rare. Yet, it’s the standard for the world’s finest examples, such as those from Sancerre, Friuli, and Marlborough. This inspired the name “Ode to the Few,” a tribute to fellow vintners who are also exploring the potential of Sauvignon Blanc from California’s coldest regions. This bottling features grapes from a favored hilltop vineyard block, known for its volcanic, iron-rich soil. It's planted with a unique Sauvignon Blanc clone from France’s Loire Valley. Seeing the result really lights us up as it expresses the limitless potential for California cool climate Sauvignon Blanc.

AROMATICS

This particular block gifts us with fruit that melds our signature characteristics of salty, herbal citrus with lush, fleshy tropical notes. From the first swirl, you'll immediately know you're in for a serious treat. The aromatics explode with a dazzling array of flinty minerality, bright salty citrus, savory herbs, exotic spices, and lush, fleshy fruit that will captivate your senses.

PALATE

A vibrant display, marrying energy with richness and adding a textural dimension that ties it all together. This wine is a true reflection of Cadre—drenched in minerality, touched by the nearby sea, and marked by a combination of salty citrus tension and textured fleshy fruit. The texture is eye opening, rare for a wine that hasn't seen a barrel.
